Retirement Missionary Partners

Did you know that the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas is one of the foremost retirement areas in the country?

It also has one of the greatest needs for missionaries. We think that’s a great match.

Retirement Missionary Partners are retired people who live part or all of their year down here in South Texas and worship and volunteer with us a couple hours a week. We are looking for people with a variety of skills not least of which is simply the willingness to help.

For those who are new to the scene, some people retire down here full-time. Others (we call them “Winter Texans”) come down after Thanksgiving and head back up North after Easter. There are great communities completely dedicated to this “over 55” demographic with a variety of activities planned daily.

The Rio Grande Valley is a birding capital of the world with nearly every long migrating bird in North America passing through at some point. Additionally, the Laguna Madre hosts some of the best coastal fishing in the country. And many people make weekly or monthly visits over to Progresso – a quaint (and perfectly safe) little Mexican village with tons of touristy stores, authentic Mexican food, and fun times.

If you would like to talk to someone who is currently a Retirement Missionary volunteer, then please contact us and we will put you in touch.
